Introducing our new Head of Product, Antanas Perez

Over the last 12 months, we’ve been successfully growing our business and hiring more people so we can scale-up while maintaining the same high standards of customer service.  This month we welcomed Antanas Perez to the City Relay Solutions family in the newly created position of Head of Product. In his role, Antanas will be responsible for developing and driving the City Relay Solutions product roadmap, ensuring we deliver innovative and effective solutions that benefit our clients, hosts and guests. 

We spoke to Antanas about his new role, what brought him to where he is today and what he enjoys doing aside from work.

Q: What’s the scope of your role?

A: The purpose of my role is to use technology to deliver continuous service improvements and help grow the City Relay Solutions business. By taking a digital-first approach to our end-to-end operations, we can provide a more efficient, transparent and seamless user experience to our clients, hosts and guests.

Q: What are your priorities?

A: Earlier this year, we acquired Outswitch, a yield management platform that’s been specifically designed to manage holiday rental properties and inventory across multiple channels to optimise pricing, maximise occupancy and improve efficiency. My focus initially is to ensure that we build on the success of Outswitch with functionality and features that provide even better returns for City Relay Solutions existing and future customers and partners.

Q: What brought you to City Relay Solutions?

A: Previous to joining City Relay Solutions, I was at Clippings, a digital platform and marketplace for interior designers, as the Head of Special Projects and then the VP of Growth. What attracted me to the role at City Relay Solutions was the challenge of delivering a platform to digitise and automate operations for the management of short let properties across various locations. 

The idea and vision of delivering a virtual hotel experience that brings together the convenience and cost-effectiveness of a holiday rental with the benefit and reassurance of having a nearby reception and guest service team excited me. The opportunity to connect clients, guests and hosts with the right services at the right time in a way that’s simple, safe and as light touch as possible could disrupt the short let market.

Q: How are you settling in so far?

A: Everyone has been very welcoming and helpful in getting me up-to-speed with how the business operates. The team are incredibly customer-focused and delivering a better user experience is at the heart of what City Relay does. This customer-first approach throughout the company will enable me to prioritise our product offering, so we focus on delivering what’s best for our customers.

Q: What do you get up to in your spare time?

A: I am admittedly a bit of a workaholic, but I love to travel, and this is what initially brought me to the UK from my native Colombia. Highlights this year have been a trip to Istanbul and Milan for Design Week. 

I also like designing things in my spare time, and I have a special knack of being able to fix things having repaired a broken iPhone recently.
